Peter Dinklage stars as Cyrano de Bergerac in Cyrano, based on the 2018 stage musical of the same name—which took its inspiration from Edmond Rostand's 1897 version. This time out, Dinklage's de Bergerac is a swashbuckling raconteur who fears his diminutive stature will keep him out of the arms of his one true love, Haley Bennett's Roxanne. Not to mention he has to compete with the likes of De Guiche—played brilliantly by Ben Mendelsohn—for her affections. Directed by Joe Wright, from a script by Erica Schmidt. In select theaters now.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut stars Olivia Colman as a professor on vacation in Greece who develops an obsessive relationship with a fellow beachgoer (Dakota Johnson) and her young daughter. A subtle film, full of subtext and mystery, it's also an incredibly assured piece of filmmaking from Gyllenhaal, who also wrote the script, adapting Elena Ferrante's novel. Also features Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard and Ed Harris. After a limited theatrical release, Lost Daughter hits Netflix today.
