Ursula the sea witch, as embodied by two-time Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy, sets her sights on a certain poor unfortunate soul in the trailer for The Little Mermaid. We'd gotten a first look at Halle Bailey's Ariel in the movie's teaser trailer, but Disney debuted an exclusive look during the 95th Oscars, revealing McCarthy's Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King's Prince Eric, and Javier Bardem's King Triton in live action.

Director Rob Marshall (Chicago) is at the helm of this reimagining of the 1989 Oscar-winning animated classic, which will feature new songs by 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The cast also includes Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.

Writer David Magee, who scripted this adaptation, teased Bailey's performance, telling A.frame, "She's tremendous. She sings in a room with five people there and cardboard boxes to represent the walls, and we're all in tears after about 30 seconds, because she is that powerful a singer. She's the real deal."

The Little Mermaid opens in theaters on May 26. Watch the trailer below.
