We saw Baz Luhrmann's take on the life story of Elvis Presley in last year's eight-time Oscar-nominated Elvis. Priscilla offers the point of view of its titular Presley, told through the lens of Sofia Coppola.
Based on Priscilla Presley's 1985 memoir, Elvis & Me, the film stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis. When the two first meet, she is still a high schooler and he is already the King of Rock and Roll. The movie follows their romance from a German army base to their home at Graceland, through all of the highs and lows, the love and loss, the fame and fantasy.
Coppola, an Oscar winner for writing 2003's Lost in Translation, enlisted a number of her regular collaborators for Priscilla, including Oscar-nominated director of photography Philippe Le Sourd and Oscar-nominated production designer Tamara Deverell, as well as longtime film editor Sarah Flack, costume designer Stacey Battat, and composer Phoenix.
Priscilla world premiered during this year's Venice International Film Festival, where Spaeny won the Coppa Volpi for Best Actress. The film opens in theaters on November 3. Watch the trailer below.
